Hello,

I'm contacting you again because I have a problem. I created a new package for a program (VMware-Horizon-Client-2303-8.9.0-21444108 (1).exe), but when I run the update (package installation), I always get an ERROR error.
I would like to know if there is a way to install this program or another one without having to go through the steps (clicking "Next" or "Install and Accept").

Server: WAPT Enterprise 2.3.0.13516 on Windows.
Consoles: Windows 10 & 11.
Infrastructure: Windows

Hello,

upon reviewing the logs, we see the message "VMWare-Horizon-Client-5.1.0-14045148.exe /VERYSILENT" timed out after 300 seconds...

Have you tried running the command line manually to see what happens? WAPT makes it easy to package silent installations, but the installation must be silent to begin with.

When using the wizard, it tries to guess what type of installer is being used (innosetup/nullsoft/msi, etc.) and set the corresponding flags, but if the wizard can't find it, you'll need to do a little research on Google... A search for "vmware-horizon silent install" returns the following as the first result: /SILENT /NORESTART...

WAPT tries its best, but it can't do everything and it can't replace a minimum of research to ensure that software is silent in all cases.

Sincerely,

Denis

Hello,

pk, thank you for your reply.

The problem is that I've already searched extensively but it's not working. I tried running the command line manually on the client machine, and I found that it works, but for 100 computers it will be difficult to do it on each client. What's even worse is that the server sees the program but doesn't check for updates.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Hello Wael,

the idea isn't to run the command line on each machine, but to modify the wapt package to have the correct command line; see the online documentation.

Regards,

Denis

Hello dcardon,

I would like to thank you for your reply.
Actually, I did what you asked, but to be honest, I haven't been able to solve the problem. Since I can see from this that you are an expert in this area (WAPT), I would like to ask for your help.

Could you please be so kind as to try creating this package (VMware-Horizon-Client-2303-8.9.0-21444108) and see what the problem is? I'm sure you'll be able to figure out where the problem lies and whether it can be solved or not.

I would be very grateful.

Sincerely,

Wael

Hello Wael,

I recommend you refer to the documentation on package creation; it's quite comprehensive, and the vmware-horizon package doesn't seem particularly complicated to implement.

I'll add vmware-horizon-client to the list of packages to create, but it's already long, so there's no availability date.

If you have any support tickets related to package creation, you can contact package creation support.

I'm locking the topic.

Best regards,

Denis
