Hello,

I'm trying to use the new feature in version 2.6: "automatically match installed software with corresponding package in the software inventory tab".

I understand that for the match to work, the software name in the software inventory needs to be normalized to the name of the corresponding package.

The software inventory for each of my workstations correctly displays the software, and the reporting via the PostgreSQL database also works.

However, the global software inventory, where names can be normalized, doesn't show all the software present.
For example, on several of my workstations, I have 7-Zip version 24.09, which corresponds to the package version.
But in the software inventory, I only see version 24.08, which is present on very few workstations.

I would like to know if it's possible to resynchronize the global software inventory, or if there's another method to use the new matching feature.

Hello, the feature is this:

Is this what you're referring to?

Otherwise, for normalization, you must click on refresh. Also, you should be using the latest version of WAPT; a bug has been detected in previous versions.

Hello, thank you for your reply.

Yes, that's exactly it, that feature. I'm going to update to the latest version, 2.6, to check if my bug is fixed. I'll try everything again and get back to this conversation with the result.

Thank you for your quick response. :D

Note that this feature only works if the key that appears in the software inventory is present here on the package

, and it corresponds to what was added to the uninstallkey variable during installation.

I just upgraded to the latest version of WAPT. And indeed, my software inventory is working again.
The feature works perfectly with packages that have the uninstallation key directly in the variable. Thank you very much for this clarification.

Everything is working on my end; thank you for fixing my problem.
Have a good day. :D
