Hello everyone,

For testing purposes, I'd like to easily deploy TranquilIT's Samba 4 packages on virtual machines (using Vagrant) or in containers.

I haven't found anything on the forum or in TranquilIT's GitHub repositories about this.

I know TranquilIT uses Ansible extensively internally (hi Steven :P!), do you share your playbooks?

Thanks.

Ansible playbooks are highly dependent on the client installation and network type. There are no basic, non-custom playbooks, but following the tutorials on the wiki.. https://dev.tranquil.itIt's fairly quick to create a basic playbook. Customizing it for specific needs can take longer...

Denis

Hi Denis,

thanks for your reply. No basic playbook either for creating your test machines?

Call me on +33240975755 so I can understand your automation needs because you may have an idea in mind and Ansible playbooks are just the tip of the iceberg of your need.

Besides, you know Steven, so I'm doubly intrigued by your case.

Sincerely.

I've never managed to do it, maybe it was a mistake or I don't know.

Your problem is probably related to the container's privileged status (whether it's privileged or not). If the container isn't privileged, it causes problems (the same applies to LXC, for example). It might be possible to run it with a fake root account, but I've never looked into it.

Sincerely,

Denis
