[Problem] Editing GPOs
Published: July 27, 2018 - 09:07
Good morning.
Our samba4 server has been running for a few months now.
I installed the RSAT tools on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server. Using these tools, I was able to create my OUs, users, groups, and GPOs. I encountered no problems.
However, for the past two days (since a clean shutdown and restart of the Samba server), when I try to edit my GPOs using the Group Policy Management Editor, I get an error. I am unable to display the Preferences, whether I am in Computer Configuration or User Configuration.
This error message is displayed:
I do have access to the sysvol directory; I want to emphasize that I have NEVER modified its permissions and that editing and applying GPOs worked perfectly before. There have also been no changes to the Samba settings.
This message appears for all GPOs. I can modify the Policy settings at the computer or user level, but not the Preferences.
Attached is a gpresult, which also shows that a GPO that was working fine is no longer being applied. I'm stuck and I don't know where to turn to solve my problem.
Thank you.
