Hello,

I'm trying to install WAPT on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm following the procedure here:

and when I get to the step of:

Configure the repositories and install the WAPT and PostgreSQL packages,
I execute the following commands:
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
apt-get install apt-transport-https lsb-release
wget -O - https://wapt.tranquil.it/debian/tiswapt-pub.gpg | apt-key add -
echo "deb https://wapt.tranquil.it/debian/wapt-1.6/ $(lsb_release -c -s) main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/wapt.list

and then

And then, of course, I can't install the WAPT packages (apt-get install tis-waptserver tis-waptrepo tis-waptsetup)
because I get the following message:

As mentioned in the documentation, the procedure is for a Debian machine. Simply correcting the repository URL should allow the packages to be downloaded. However, this will still not work.

Indeed, there are Python dependencies integrated into the tis-waptserver package that have binary linking, and there are ABI incompatibilities between certain Ubuntu and Debian libraries. In version 1.3 of WAPT, there were no ABI incompatibility problems; Debian packages worked correctly under Ubuntu, but this is no longer the case.

So for now I recommend installing on a 64-bit Debian Stretch system. I'll add a message to the documentation to emphasize that the procedure is for Debian (as indicated in the title).

We plan to release a build for Ubuntu soon, as soon as we find the time (we're currently very busy with Samba, Active Directory, and WAPT migrations). We're also looking for people to join the Tranquil IT team!

So, I ended up installing it on Debian, and it works very well.
