Blocking software updates from being installed on a PC

Hello,
on my network (approximately 200 PCs), I have a core package group that installs on the entire network. Among the software in this group is 7-Zip. A new web application, used on only two PCs, requires version 9.20 to be installed. How can I block 7-Zip updates on these two PCs (without removing them from my core group)?
I tried adding 7-Zip to the blocked packages list, but then WAPT throws an error and loops endlessly (although I seem to recall this working under version 1.3).

Thank you for your help

. - Installed WAPT version (1.6.2.7)
- Server OS (Debian Stretch)
- Administration/package creation machine OS (Windows 10)
