WAPT - Self-Service

Good morning,

I just installed a server with the following configurations:
  • wapt in version 1.7.4
  • Debian Buster
  • WIN10 Admin Machine
  • I'm using the community version

After following all the usual steps: installation, adding a host, I arrive at the step of launching self-service on the client workstation.
Unfortunately, I am asked for a password and login.
I've tried the SuperAdmin password, the local machine password, and the user session password, but each time I get the message: "Incorrect username or password"

During my installation steps, at no point did I have an account or configuration related to LDAP or AD for self-service.

In the documentation, however, it is explained that: "In the Community version, only Local Administrator users and members of the waptselfservice group can access self-service on the agent. It is not possible to filter the packages made accessible to the user."

So how and where can I configure this so that I can type the user login and password into the selservice in order to display it?.

Maybe I misunderstood and I'm typing the wrong account.

Can you help me with this?

THANKS,

Hello

, waptselfservice authenticates on the machine, so the authentication details to enter are either a local account or a domain account.
Therefore, it's normal that you don't need to configure authentication on the agent.

In the community version:

* An administrator user on the machine can connect to the self-service.
* A non-administrator user who is a member of the "waptselfservice" group can also connect to the self-service.

Ah, okay, thank you very much.

So, just to be on the WAPT server (or rather, the agent), it's able to automatically read from the waptselfservice group? Without any special configuration?

Thanks,

PS: Another big thank you for the work done, guys :)

We've also encountered this issue. I think a small update to the documentation is needed on this point.
You need to create a security group in Active Directory named "waptselfservice" and add to it the users (or other security groups) who have permission to access self-service.

Hello,

The documentation for this feature is available at https://www.wapt.fr/fr/doc/wapt-usage/w ... rvice.html.

Could you suggest any improvements to the documentation that you would like to see?

Sincerely,

Vincent
