[SOLVED] [WUA] KB in Discarded despite the WUA packet in auth

Hello,

We're continuing with the tool setup, and this time I'm stuck on the WUA part regarding the application of certain KBs:

1/ I created a "windows update" package in which I authorized all Critical and Important KBs to date (including KB4565541 :) ).
2/ It's installed on the Win2012R2 servers that I have connected to my WAPT server.
3/ I run the update search on the agents.
4/ Some servers correctly accept OK/PENDING/DISCARDED.
4bis/ A group of servers displays certain KBs as "DISCARDED" even though they are authorized by the package I created in step 1.

What actions can I take to see what might be blocking them?

D.

WAPT 1.8.2 Ent
Server OS: Debian 10
Client OS: Windows Server 2012R2
Administration Machine OS: Windows Server 2016

Well, in the end, after a day of searching and after deciding to post on the forum, the posts in question changed from "PENDING_UPDATES" to "OK," and the update status was corrected.

So perhaps I had the update installations in progress, and that was blocking the update status from being updated?

Hello,

In order:

- scan
- creation of the wua rules package
- installation of the wua rules package
- rescan (to take into account the new rules and switch the KB to missing)
- download of the KB by the wapt server (since it is missing on the machine, it is automatically downloaded to the server, every 30 minutes)
- installation of the KB

To put it simply, after installing a wua rules package, you need to run a new wua scan.

I had started the scan, but the packages remained discarded until the umpteenth "refresh".

Anyway, it works now; I just had to be patient. I'm marking this as resolved, :)

thanks!
