[WAPT Console] Possible improvements?

Hello,

For your information, our WAPT console is installed on a bastion host (Windows Server 2019 Standard).
After a few days of use, we encountered a few issues.

We have a security policy that disconnects us from the server after a certain period of inactivity.
This means that we lose our console customizations each time: columns removed, display modified, etc.

Furthermore, we noticed that our user directories are constantly being populated with temporary files generated by WAPT, which are gradually taking up a significant amount of space – even though we specifically specified a different path for package development on a separate partition.

The directory in question is: %localappdata%\Temp.

Are there any planned or possible improvements?

Best regards,

Étienne

Hello @elelay

What is the point of having the console installed on a win2019 machine configured with security rules that regularly overwrite your customizations?

The console works perfectly well on a Windows client, such as win10, and a Windows client is the recommended platform for running the console.

To answer your question, I don't think there are any improvements to be expected on the WAPT side with regard to your observation.

Good morning,

First of all, thank you for your reply.
Windows is the recommended platform for running the console
It was decided to install the console on a server rather than a client, simply out of habit. We hadn't seen this recommendation in the documentation.

The console is accessible by our IT department via level 2 accounts with certain rights.
We therefore have a security policy that disconnects users from the server after 5 minutes of inactivity. This prevents RDP hijacking and related issues.

Having to re-customize the console each time isn't particularly bothersome, but as with some settings, we were wondering if it was possible to save these settings via the waptconsole.ini file, for example. Judging by your response, I imagine not.

Good day.

Sincerely,
