[RESOLVED] Technical questions for potential future use
Published: Dec 23, 2021 - 3:24 PM
Hello,
my name is Arnaud, and I work as a contractor for a client with a unique situation. We have workstations
we call UPs (production units) and user workstations. My client has a presence throughout France and is international, but my request only concerns the French client base.
For the migration of the UPs, we currently spend half a day manually configuring the new workstation remotely.
This is extremely time-consuming, especially given the network quality, which is far from fiber optic, and the limited versions of our remote access tools.
Questions:
With WAPT, can we automatically rename (send a script to) a workstation using admin accounts?
With WAPT, can we configure a workstation with a static IP address or by using DHCP?
With WAPT, can we configure DNS?
With WAPT, can we add an environment variable to a specific profile?
Could there be a conflict between the WAPT agent and the SCCM agent?
Currently, we are aiming for fewer than 300 workstations (very specific workstations that present challenges in terms of preparation and support). The total number of workstations is approximately 44,000, distributed globally.
Will managing such a large number of workstations pose a problem for Wapt?
Regarding the workstations:
OS: Windows 10: Build 1909, 21H1, 21H2;
Wapt version: None at the moment
; Server: None at the moment.
Sincerely,
Arnaud / Falcom,
