[RESOLVED] Server change without recovery

Hello,

we are currently on an "old" version 1.8 and, as part of our testing, we want to migrate to a new server with a clean 2.2 Enterprise version, without transferring the old data.

Perhaps we are missing a step (due to lack of knowledge, and I apologize).

We take an "old" workstation, attached to the 1.8 server, change the GPO on the test OU, and point the computer to the new server.

The 2.2 deployment goes well, and the machine registers correctly (Kerberos)
- reachable: OK
- it appears as "TO UPGRADE"
- I cannot issue any commands to it (such as forgetting all current packages)
- I tried adding the WAPT-upgrade package and running the installations => NOTHING
- I checked the agent version: 2.2.1.11899: OK
- the workstation appears with all the old packages.
I can assign new packages to it, but it won't install them.

Aside from uninstalling the old version and purging it, do you see any other solutions?

Thank you

. Sincerely.

Hello,

in your tests, did you generate a new key for your enterprise WAPT server, or did you reuse your existing key from your 1.8.2 server?

If you generated a new key, do you have this new key installed on your test machine?

Hello,

Yes, a new key
, and no, indeed the computer didn't have the correct key. There were two keys present in my directory... very good analysis.

1/ However, even though I redeployed a new agent via GPO, it didn't install the new/correct key.

2/ I "re-purged" my directory and "bingo," the correct key was there and everything started!

Ugh, sorry for being such a noob, I know the key is crucial...

Thanks again.

Best regards.
