Hello,
can WAPT detect software installed on a machine before the agent is installed and, if the software has an existing package, add it to the list of installed packages on the machine's information page, and thus keep it up to date?
Thank you

Hello,
By default, you will not receive any central inventory updates without an agent, regardless of its brand or model.
Regarding the WAPT process:
1) Install the WAPT agent on the network.
2) The WAPT agent uploads the inventory listed in "Add/Remove Programs" for the machines to the WAPT console.
3) Search for the WAPT packages that meet your needs in the Tranquil IT store and import them into your private repository by re-signing them. If you cannot find the software you need in the Tranquil IT store, you can have your own WAPT package created.
4) Then, deploy the WAPT packages that correspond to the software listed in "Add/Remove Programs".
5) If new versions of the software are imported into the WAPT repository (either from the Tranquil IT store or as a version update to your own package), the software will automatically update on the network.

Hello,
I probably didn't express myself clearly.
I wanted to know if, once the agent is installed on the machine, Wapt will maintain the software already installed (before the agent was added).
Have a good day.

Hello.
The WAPT agent isn't capable of saying, "
Hey, this software is already installed, so I'll automatically choose a package to update it."
However, if Firefox, for example, is already installed and you put a WAPT package for Firefox on the machine, the setup will follow its behavior, which consists of updating the existing version.
Obviously, the editions must be the same, as well as the architecture (32 vs. 64).
This requires a certain degree of flexibility; perhaps some packages need to be developed to manually recognize the presence of a given software in order to force the setup to perform an update rather than a new installation.
Such are the joys of the deployment world.
