[RESOLVED] OpenVPN Client Packet Issue I004

Hello,

We were using the OpenVPN Client package with a configuration package deploying the ovpn file, and following the client update to I004 which uninstalls I003, the TAP driver is not reinstalled, and therefore the VPN connection drops.

I tested by manually downloading and installing I005, released on February 14th, and it installs the TAP driver correctly.

Is this related to the uninstallation of I003, which left the driver pending deletion and prevented its reinstallation, or is it a bug in I004?

Thank you for your feedback and have a good day,

Jean-Charles

Hi Jean-Charles,

we've pushed a new package with the latest OpenVPN version to the store (version tis-openvpn-2.6.10-46). The latest installer does reinstall the driver, but not silently if it's an update... The latest OpenVPN package on the store uninstalls the problematic I004 version before reinstalling to ensure a successful installation. If it's an earlier version, it simply performs the update.

I'm marking this topic as resolved pending the next quirks of the OpenVPN installer. :-)

Note: the WAPT package number corresponds to what is placed in the registry by the OpenVPN installer, and not the numbering based on i004/i005.

Best regards,

Denis
