Hello everyone,

I'm deploying WAPT on my client machines via a GPO. For your information, I'm on a 2012 server

Deploying directly with the executable does not work (as shown in the tutorial)

I am forced to create a .bat file that calls the waptdeploy executable

The .bat file works and waptdeploy starts correctly on my client machines

First: a DOS window opens with the execution of waptdeploy => I want it to perform the installation in silent mode
Secondly: an access violation is recorded at the very beginning because it cannot access a folder =>> ??
Thirdly: it displays an error: you do not have sufficient rights... =>> I want to run the .bat file as administrator without having to enter the password each time

Has anyone else encountered this type of error?

How can I easily deploy waptdeploy via GPO?

If it's a computer GPO, there shouldn't be any problems because it's executed with a system account, I believe.

Does the script run at startup or shutdown?

The error message is normal; you need to run it with an authorized account. Right-click --> Run as administrator.

Yes, that's actually what it's designed for, I think.

I simply wanted to say that when you run it manually for testing (as in your image), you must run it in "Run as administrator" mode, otherwise you will get the error: "You must have administrative rights to install a program"

OK, testing...

But the problem is that the program was started automatically via the GPO (I didn't do anything on the client machine)

The user is not going to click "ok" every time

The problem is that the program fails to install due to a lack of administrator privileges

Hence my question: How does the script (waptdeploy.exe) run with administrator privileges?

Do I need to configure a .bat file myself, or does waptdeploy.exe do it automatically?

Normally, whether it's a .bat file or not doesn't make much difference.

If you launch the script via GPO at system startup, the script runs in administrator mode (or, to be precise, with a system account, I believe), so it has no privileges.

I apologize for asking again, but could you please confirm that this script runs at system startup and not at login? Judging by the symptoms, it seems that's the case.

You can, however, verify that waptdeploy.exe works by running it with an administrator account.

I have the same problem, it asks me for a login and password on my AD in order to install it.
Computer GPO does not work and user GPO launches but requests admin rights.

A solution?

Yes, sometimes it doesn't work for me on the first try.

Just for testing purposes : When you enter the username and password, does it work?
