Using WAPT and self-service without AD

Hello,

We are able to use the WAPT service and self-service without Active Directory.

This works by creating a local user group with the local user of the workstation as a member and creating a self-service rule based on the same group name.

I wanted to know if with WAPT it is possible to first create a local user group on all the workstations in our network and then either add the current user who runs the agent to it, or, with a second package, add the user of our choice.

Thank you in advance,

Hi,

it seems a bit far-fetched, but yes, it's possible.

Otherwise, I have two tips that might help:

Tip for Windows: all users are members of the "Users" group.

The other tip is that you can also directly use usernames instead of group names in the self-service rules,

if that helps...
