Area Description and more Area Entity

Hello
, I've noticed that the Odaim console is missing an important feature: an entity type field.
Currently, we're using the description field to associate the PC with the user's first and last name. In our directory, we have the entity to which each user is assigned.
User assignment is important. A field like Machine Name|First Name|Entity would be very useful, I think. But perhaps this is already possible? Using OUs isn't ideal because users move frequently. Isn't there a way to extract data from our directory and insert it into one or two description fields so that we can see which PC is using it and identify its entity in our console?
The idea is to know which machine belongs to whom and which unit it belongs to.
If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Rohan

Hello.

Actually, with wapt (Odaim for you), we've implemented a flexible approach using audit packages. You can extend the machine's inventory with audit packages:

Example:
https://wapt.tranquil.it/store/fr/detai ... _PROD.wapt

The advantage is that it's logged.

Therefore, in an audit, you can query Active Directory using the pyad library.

In your case, you would need to identify the machine's user, make an Active Directory request with pyad to retrieve the information we're interested in, and then write it using WAPT.write_audit_data_if_changed.

The results can then be dragged and dropped into the console columns.
