[SOLVED] Two agents to two servers, is it possible?

Hello everyone,
In my branch office, I'm currently using Wapt Discovery with a local server, and the agent is installed across the entire network. My organization is going to deploy Wapt Enterprise in all branches, including mine, and consequently, the Wapt agent present on the workstations will be overwritten. I'd like to know if it's possible to maintain two Wapt agents on the workstations: one communicating with my local server and one communicating with the organization's server. The reason is that I will no longer have permission to create packages on the new infrastructure.
Thank you in advance for your answers (which, however, may not bring good news). :D

Hi Philippe,

from a technical standpoint, it's perfectly possible to have two agents running in parallel; we regularly do this internally on development machines. However, during a standard installation with the waptsetup.exe installer, there will be a conflict regarding the service name (waptservice in services.msc) and the service's listening port, even if two different directories are chosen for the installation. Therefore, it would require some post-installation modifications.

For day-to-day production management, it's crucial to ensure that the software packages on the two servers are completely different; otherwise, audit errors may occur. Therefore, the best approach is to explore how to integrate with the new WAPT infrastructure by negotiating the appropriate permissions :-). Managing signature keys deployed within specific areas allows for granular delegation.

Best regards,

Denis

Hello,

Thank you for your reply, which I will keep in mind in case the new installation is not entirely satisfactory.
Sincerely,
