Hello,
- Package tis-windows11-upgrade-template 0-114
- server OS (Linux)
- administration OS (Windows)

We used the package for a silent installation of Windows 11. The package works, but we are encountering the following problem: after the computer is upgraded to Windows 11, it disappears from Active Directory. Indeed, the computer is no longer found in the directory or in the Active Directory Recycle Bin.

However, the computer retains its hostname and IP configuration, and it has not been moved to Workgroup. We have also checked the Active Directory event logs and found nothing indicating that the computer has been removed from Active Directory.

What could be causing this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Hello Kisane,

this WAPT package doesn't affect machine joining itself, nor does the Microsoft Windows 11 upgrade executable.
You should check the domain join before upgrading with nltest; perhaps the machine was already "out of domain," and perhaps the credential cache was flushed during the update (this needs to be verified).
Another issue, if you have a Samba-AD, is that you're using an older version which has a bug with recent versions of Windows 11.

Regards,

Denis
