[RESOLVED] WADS disk space

WAPT: 2.6.0.17392
Ubuntu Server 22.04
Hello,
I would like to test the WADS component to replace our MDT server.
Which partition should I allocate disk space to?
Currently, I assume the package partition is stored in /var?
I currently have 30GB.

Hi Mikaël,
WADS files (WinPE, ISOs, drivers) are stored by default in a `wads/` directory next to the `wapt/` directory, which stores WAPT packages. So if you have 30GB in your `/var/` partition, it will also be stored there by default.
Regarding disk space requirements, you need to allocate enough for WinPE (400-500MB), ISOs (7-8GB per Windows ISO), and drivers (1GB per model on average). Driver files are deduplicated, so if the models are similar with some drivers in common, it will take up less space than that.
Regards,
Denis

OK, thanks for the info, I hadn't thought about the drivers...

Hi Mikaël,
thanks for the feedback
. By the way, I suggest you upgrade to the latest version, 2.6.1; there have been quite a few minor fixes to the WADS section since 2.6.0.

Denis
