Clarification libreoffice still/fresh package
Published: May 28, 2026 - 09:35
Hello,
For some time now, the distinction between LibreOffice Fresh and Still no longer exists.
It's still possible to have a Still equivalent, but it requires payment.
Currently, you still have two separate packages:
`tis-libreoffice-still`, which currently receives the latest version, and
`tis-libreoffice-fresh`, which is broken and has a security update pending.
It would probably be better to move to a single `tis-libreoffice` package, which would make it clearer about the available versions.
There is indeed a maintenance period for the previous version, 25.8.6.2, but it is not long-term.
The 25.8 branch will no longer be maintained after June 19th. It could become a "still" version, but it would need to be switched to the latest version after the maintenance period ends.
Sincerely,
