Good morning,

We would like customers to be able to install WSL 2 on their workstation independently.

After testing the following two packages:

• tis-wsl2
  tis-wsl2-ubuntu

Administrative rights are required to complete the installation:
Do you know if there is a way to bypass the request for administrative rights?

I don't think it's a permissions issue, but WSL requires a system restart to install.
I'll see if we can at least run the command `wsl.exe --install` from the package, but in any case, a restart will be necessary.

I have a similar problem mentioned in another recent thread on the forum, which remains unresolved.

Like you, even after restarting, I also need to run the command `wsl.exe --install` as a local administrator for it to work.
In my case, I think the problem is more related to the use of the WUA agent, which manages Windows updates on our system and which seems to be blocking the WSL download.
However, I can't quite diagnose the cause of the blockage...

I have the same problem; it works if deployed as a normal administrator account, but it doesn't work as a SYSTEM account, even after restarting in between. I don't use WUA
I've tried many things without getting anything satisfactory; the only way that works for me is to run this as admin or to install the package in an admin command prompt (I assume it doesn't run in SYSTEM that way) Then reboot
The user can then perform the following actions in a session without privileges:
