[SOLVED] Description of recording problem.

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the WAPT 2.6.1.17870 console.
On some PCs, I've managed to add information to the PC description so I can group together PCs with the same issue.
However, when I press Enter and click "Yes" on the save message, it disappears.
I don't understand why it saves on 11 PCs but not on the others.
Could you please help me?
Have a nice day.

Hi Catherine,
when you change the description in the console (the field on the right in a machine's properties), it modifies the machine's package description and sends it directly to the machine. However, if the machine isn't powered on, the new value will only be applied once the machine package is updated and the inventory is retrieved.
Were the machines experiencing the issue connected or not?
Regards,
Denis

Hello,
Ah ok I understand better now. Yes, indeed, when I fill in the description the PC is off.
So I have to wait until it's turned on for it to save the information I give it in the description,
is that correct?

Hi again Catherine,
you can do it beforehand; it will modify the machine package (you can edit the package and modify the description directly within it if you want). The thing is, the display is based on the last value reported by the machine, and if the machine is turned off, well, it won't be able to report the new value.

It's true that we could be a bit more user-friendly by displaying the requested value and adding a small "warning" icon to indicate that the current value on the machine is different (and will be updated with the next machine update).
Best regards,
Denis
