[Windows] WAPT Repo?

Hello everyone!

I'm setting up a WAPT architecture to allow me to update PCs in my branches. Each branch has a server (and about twenty PCs). The WAPT server would be physically located next to me at headquarters.

To avoid overloading the network with requests from client workstations, I was considering an architecture like this

: My machine: WAPT Server - WAPT Console;
Each server in the branches: WAPT Repo;
and therefore each machine (including the server in the branches): WAPT Service

, all running happily under Windows!

The problem is: I can't figure out how or where to find WAPTRepo.exe to install it on my branch servers... Furthermore, would installing WAPTRepo.exe be incompatible with these servers also being updated via WAPT?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hey!

I've spent some time trying to get WAPT working in "repository mode," without success. Maybe my method isn't right!

I installed Apache on my server, which is meant to be my repository.
I then configured the repository address on that server in my client, leaving the WAPT server address as it was.

Finally, I copied and pasted the contents of the directory to be mirrored from my WAPT server to the "repository" server.

The result: my client communicates with the WAPT server just fine, but I can't get it to retrieve the packages available on the "repository" server.

There's clearly a step I'm missing (and it's probably something simple), but I can't figure it out... help!

Hello,
after several tests I found a solution to overcome the problem.
Once your second repository is in place, create a package group and put the different packages you want to install on your machines in it.
Finally, export the repository folder from the primary server to the secondary server that serves as the repository.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to PM me. :D
