install drivers error

Hi,

I'm trying to install a driver package for a specific piece of hardware
The following command works fine in the command line, but I get an error with wapt...

CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe /Q /SE

wapt log error:
CalledProcessErrorOutput: Command '"CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe" /Q /SE' returned non-zero exit status 256.
Output:u''

What also bothers me is that the driver actually installed because I see it in the list:
>apt-get list-registry silicon
UninstallKey Software Version Uninstallstring
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F189C013BFD9D0C73BEC97AD2CFF0CF7CAD1E670Windows Driver Package - Silicon Laboratories Inc. (silabser) Ports (11/20/2015 6.7.2.200)11/20/2015 6.7.2.200C:\PROGRA~1\DIFX\03824E41136E07FB\CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe /u C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\slabvcp.inf_amd64_0bae2245fca55739\slabvcp.inf

but my Wapt displays ERROR

Also, by the way, what is the correct format for the uninstallation key?
  • uninstallkey = [F189C013BFD9D0C73BEC97AD2CFF0CF7CAD1E670]
Or
  • uninstallstring = ['C:\PROGRA~1\DIFX\03824E41136E07FB\CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe /u C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\slabvcp.inf_amd64_0bae2245fca55739\slabvcp.inf -q']
Thank you in advance.

Hello

https://www.wapt.fr/fr/doc/CreationPaqu ... -if-needed

Code 256 might be a normal exit code returned by your application?

Hi !

Thanks for your quick and accurate reply. Great, with this tag the program installs correctly.

However, I'm stuck on the uninstallation. Here are the 3 methods I've tried without success:
  • uninstallkey = ["F189C013BFD9D0C73BEC97AD2CFF0CF7CAD1E670"]
  • uninstallstring = ['"C:\Program Files\DIFX\03824E41136E07FB\CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe" /U "C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\slabvcp.inf_amd64_0bae2245fca55739\slabvcp.inf" /S']
  • def uninstall():
    run(r'"C:\Program Files\DIFX\03824E41136E07FB\CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe" /U "C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\slabvcp.inf_amd64_0bae2245fca55739\slabvcp.inf" /S')

Here is the output of wapt-get list-registry:
F189C013BFD9D0C73BEC97AD2CFF0CF7CAD1E670Windows Driver Package - Silicon Laboratories Inc. (silabser) Ports (11/20/2015 6.7.2.200)11/20/2015 6.7.2.200C:\PROGRA~1\DIFX\03824E41136E07FB\CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe /u C:\WINDOWS\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\slabvcp.inf_amd64_0bae2245fca55739\slabvcp.inf

It works correctly from the command line.

Thank you again
