Slow Samba-Active Directory synchronization

Hello everyone!

I'm a Samba user and brand new to this forum. I'm experiencing a slowdown issue on my test infrastructure that I can't explain. I have a Samba file server using Active Directory authentication from a Windows domain. I've successfully integrated the Samba server into the Windows domain and shared the folders, but when I try to access them from a Windows 7 client, authentication is incredibly slow. I've also noticed extreme slowness when I run the "wbinfo -u/-g" command to retrieve the AD users or groups.

I really need help with this because I'm not sure what to do next.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Have you followed our documentation?
https://dev.tranquil.it/wiki/Samba4
Which version of Samba are you using?
Could you upload your /etc/krb5.conf and /etc/samba/smb.conf files from your file server here?
Have you correctly configured the /etc/hostname and /etc/hosts files?

Your slowness issues could stem from a number of settings:
DNS, Kerberos, a misconfigured /etc/nsswitch.conf file on your file server, etc.

Otherwise, the quickest solution might be to submit a support ticket for Samba assistance:
