[RESOLVED] WAPT PC Clients with Snapdragon Processor

Hello,
I'd just like to know if WAPT has already been deployed on Snapdragon architecture PCs. We're currently using WAPT 2.5.5.15691 and would like to explore the feasibility of upgrading our entire fleet (or at least part of it) to Snapdragon processors.
If not, is this planned for the future?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Currently it is not possible to install a WAPT Windows agent for ARM architecture.
I'll let Denis or Hubert answer regarding possible developments.
Have a good day,
Bertrand

Hi Benoit,
there were some issues with the Lazarus/FreePascal compilation used in WAPT. But there have been very recent updates that seem to fix the problem [1]. We'll therefore be able to run internal tests again, and if they're successful, we should be able to have a WAPT version for Windows arm64 in the coming months.
See you soon,
Denis

Thanks for the information.
Have you made any progress with your tests?

Hi Benoit,
we've made some fixes to the AMD64 agent to improve its compatibility with Rosetta on Windows ARM64.
Regarding native compilation on Windows ARM64, the necessary fixes haven't yet been implemented in the Free Pascal compiler.
Regards,
Denis

Thanks for your reply!
Now, will this architecture really take off in the enterprise? I'm not so sure... Intel is trying to catch up with Lunar Lake...

Hi again Benoit,
I found the Rosetta emulation layer quite impressive at first glance (it would take a month to form a more detailed opinion, but the first impression was really good

). So for simple business cases, I wouldn't be surprised if it could take off; time will tell!
Best regards,
Denis
