I understand the RND-* UUIDs better now. I just checked the machine I re-registered, and the BIOS UUID given by wmi does indeed correspond to the old UUID:

I have several workstations whose UUIDs seem to be changing for no apparent reason.

These workstations appear disconnected in the console, and in the server logs I have:


[waptws] WARNING Application rejected connection
[waptserver] CRITICAL Get_websocket_auth_token failed EWaptAuthenticationFailure ...

I've looked around a bit but I can't see what could reactivate this service, probably a Windows routine that does it in the background...

I have several scientific machines whose Windows updates are managed by WAPT. These machines perform data acquisitions for sometimes several days, so it's important that they don't restart on their own and that they only perform updates via WAPT, but this doesn't seem to be happening...

As a last resort, I just noticed that if I activate the "DN in AD" column, only the machine name appears for those without any OUs (and it seems to work for fake OUs).

If you have a better solution, I'm all ears (a filter that would only display those without OUs...).

I have several machines that can't be joined to a domain, which I've categorized using "fake or".
Is it possible to view the inventory while excluding machines not categorized as "fake or not" (whether they're "fake" or not)?
This would allow me to easily see if any machines are slipping through the cracks...

I have a bunch of updates to install for a new version of a software program.
The problem is that each version of this software has a new "uninstall key," and if I install it that way, I end up with multiple versions of the software installed simultaneously.
