I uninstalled Natbraille via the self-service option, but the dependency wasn't uninstalled when I clicked "uninstall Natbraille," hence my manual uninstallation.

When you say registry key, are you referring to the key for natbraille or the dependency?
Uninstalling natbraille is fine;
leaving openjdk8 installed on the machine isn't a problem,
but in the case of the test, that's not the result...

I was able to retrieve and install it. The first attempt worked
by uninstalling Natbraille via the self-service option.

I then uninstalled OpenJDK 8 manually, but
when I reinstall it, the dependency doesn't reinstall;

the log returns nothing:
nothing...
