WAPT Enterprise 2.2.3.12463
Windows Server Win2k16
Win10 Admin Machine
Hello,
My WAPT server is currently on one of my two sites and I will need to move it (VM) to the other site.
Specifically, how does the IP address change work so as not to lose the workstations
? Is there a procedure somewhere?
Thank you in advance.
Have a good day.

If the wapt-get.ini file in wapt_server specifies an IP address, you cannot proceed without reinstalling an agent or modifying the configuration via GPO.
If the wapt-get.ini file in wapt_server specifies a DNS name, you simply need to change the DNS record.

Thank you.
I just checked and I do have an IP address in the wapt-get.ini file.
So, I need to recreate an agent, modify the addresses (repository and server), and then push them back via GPO, for example?
Will that be enough to re-establish the connection between my clients and the server with its new IP address?
In terms of a scenario, wouldn't it be better to set up a new server and connect my machines one by one?
Is there a way to export and then re-import the packets on a new server?

Alternatively, you can use a Group Policy Object (GPO) to edit the INI file (if you have Active Directory) to modify the wapt-get.ini file on each machine and point it to the correct server.
(I recommend creating a DNS record this time to avoid problems like this.)
No need to set up a new server.
