Hello everyone,

I deployed the WAPT solution in my organization about a year ago, and everything was working perfectly thanks to this fantastic tool. Server management was delegated to a colleague, and unfortunately, he wiped the installation by reinstalling the server. The last backup I made is also missing... :(

I've now arrived, and the server appears to be empty, yet all the workstations in the organization have the WAPT agent installed, but they no longer appear in the console. Is it possible to automatically "discover" them from the WAPT console?

Thank you in advance for your help...

The server is installed on a Windows 10 machine, version 2.3.0

Hello Duster,

the answer depends on the configuration of the previous server and the new installation. If registration is open, you simply need to have the same server name and the same HTTP/HTTPS configuration (i.e., if using HTTPS, use the correct certificate or ignore self-signed certificates with `verify_certs=0`).

If your workstations are in an Active Directory domain, the easiest solution would be to reinstall the agent you generated on your new server.

The workstations will then reconnect automatically; however, you will need to redownload the software packages and reassign them to the different machines.

Regards,

Denis

Hello and thank you for your reply!
If your workstations are in an Active Directory domain, the simplest solution will be to push the re-installation of the agent you generated onto your new server.
Pushing = deploying via GPO, is that correct?

We had little success with GPOs, which led me to manually deploy the agent on our approximately 50 machines...

Yours sincerely,

Hi Duster,

thanks for your feedback. GPOs aren't very practical for software deployment... But WAPT has to be deployed somehow. With 50 workstations, it can still be done manually, :-)

Denis.
