Hello,
let me introduce myself briefly.
I'm self-employed, selling used laptops.
Before selling them, I install Windows with a small suite of software so the customer can boot directly from their PC.
So, a few questions...
Regarding software installation on the PCs, is it possible to install software without installing the Wapt client on the PC itself?
Regarding the server, what machine and operating system do you recommend? (Knowing that the machine will only be used for Wapt.)
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hello,
Yes, using WAPT is a good idea for your needs. You will need to install a WAPT agent on the workstations, but you can easily remove it once you're finished.
For the server, we recommend a 32-bit Debian Wheezy system with at least 1GB of RAM and sufficient disk space to store your WAPT packages. Here's the link to the installation documentation, just in case.
Regards
