Hello,
Wapt server: 2.5.5.15967
OS: Red Hat 9.4 (Plow)
Clients: Windows 10/11
Hello,
I have a quick question regarding the nginx web server and its dependency on the mod-http-auth-spnego module. I'm stuck on nginx version 1.22.1 and I'd like to try and keep up with the releases of the product, which is currently stable at 1.26.2.
Are there any planned updates for this module on the tranquil.it repository?
Thank you in advance.
JM

Hi Jean-Marc,
I don't have a RHEL 9 installation handy for testing, but on my test AlmaLinux 9, I only have versions 1.22 and 1.24 as appstream modules. Is this a standard Red Hat appstream module or an Nginx upstream module?
Regards,
Denis

Hello Denis,
Indeed, Nginx is only officially supported in v1.22 and 1.24 under RHEL9. The only way for me to keep up with Nginx developments and fixes would therefore be to compile the module sources by hand, which clearly does not seem easy with Nginx.
Nginx v1.22 will be supported until November 2025 on RHEL9 so I assume that security patches will be supported by RedHat until then.

Hi Jean-Marc,
OK, that matches what I found on my end.
We'll add the module version for nginx 1.24 to the internal build chain. That way we'll be all set until 2027!
Best regards,
Denis
