Information:
- WAPT version 2.7.0.19593-10b94c8e-amd64
- WAPT server OS: Debian 13
- Administration machine operating system: Windows Server 2022 Standard

Good morning,

I get this error when installing the tis-laps-by-wapt (v3) package on a Debian 13 agent:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/opt/wapt/common.py", line 4618, in install_wapt
    exitstatus = setup.install()
                 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  File "/opt/wapt/private/install/waptvda_z3ov/setup.py", line 26, in install
  File "/opt/wapt/private/install/waptvda_z3ov/setup.py", line 36, in audit
TypeError: can't subtract offset-naive and offset-aware datetimes

TypeError: can't subtract offset-naive and offset-aware datetimes
What's strange is that a few days earlier I had installed this same package (still v3) on another Debian 13 agent and the installation had worked.

Am I missing a specific package (Debian package) on my machine that's experiencing the error?

Hi Marc,

yes, there is a Python 3.10 / Python 3.11 compatibility issue with date comparisons (Wapt 2.7 uses Python 3.11). Thanks for reporting the bug; I think there are a few other packages that will have this problem. We fixed this change in behavior in the Wapt code itself, but we didn't do a full review of all the packages to see which ones were causing the problem.

Internally, we use the tis-laps package, which uploads the password to Active Directory, so we didn't see the issue with tis-laps-by-wapt, even though we've been using 2.7 internally for over six months. :-) A package developer is looking into fixing the problem quickly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Denis

Good morning,

I just installed the new version of the package (3-15) but now the problem is reversed: the update went without error on my debian 13 machine which previously had the error indicated in the original post.

However, I'm getting this error on my machine (also running Debian 13), which had successfully installed version 3.14 correctly:

Code: Select all

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/opt/wapt/common.py", line 4534, in install_wapt
    exitstatus = setup.install()
  File "/opt/wapt/private/install/waptru42zphr/setup.py", line 26, in install

TypeError: can't subtract offset-naive and offset-aware datetimes

TypeError: can't subtract offset-naive and offset-aware datetimes
Could this be due to the history in the package audit data on the machine?

I think the diagnosis is correct; I've escalated the issue to the internal package development team. I'll get back to you as soon as I have any updates.

Sincerely,

Denis
