Actual status of packages installed on a machine

Good morning,

I am currently testing WAPT.

I performed the following test:

• Installing a WAPT package (firefox esx): OK

• Uninstalling Firefox using the Windows "Add/Remove Programs" tool

• In the WAPT console
  • Software inventory tab: the Firefox package no longer appears
  • However, it continues to appear in the machine's General tab => the status does not update

Therefore, there is an inconsistency between the status displayed on the console and the actual presence of the software.
While the software was indeed installed at some point, its presence or absence on the machine is not taken into account for the status.

I may have forgotten something.

Is there a way to manage this situation?
Perhaps this exists in the paid versions?

Hello,

yes, that is indeed the intended behavior.
A package is not necessarily tied to a specific piece of software. In fact, a package can very well copy files, launch programs, etc.

The status sent by the console therefore shows the return of the last installation launched by wapt.
If an error occurred during the installation, the package will show an error.

Please note that there is no regular check to see if the software is still installed.
(But normally your users are not administrators of their machines, so software won't disappear on its own ^^)

We are indeed considering creating a "def audit" function, which would be executed for each package with each update, and which would switch to an error if the audit failed.
