I'm just missing one thing to get rid of another tool and use ONLY Wapt!
I don't have Active Directory, so no Group Policy Objects (GPO) to deploy agents remotely.

Currently, I'm using PSExec coupled with EasyDeploy (http://easydeploy.andyamaya.com) for the graphical interface to deploy the agent remotely. So my idea would be:

to have a tab (or something similar) to scan a range or specify an IP address, and then send the agent via PSExec to either a single machine or all machines responding to a ping.

RDP, WOL, PSExec... all at my fingertips in a single tool! Perfect. :D

Agent deployment via PSExec was integrated into WAPTServer in earlier versions. This functionality had to be removed in version 1.1 or 1.2. Indeed, on more secure networks, access to IPC$ is blocked, so deployments cannot be made with PSExec, and Active Directory servers are almost always available.

Now that Samba-AD is working perfectly, there's really no reason not to have Active Directory. For your information, at Tranquil IT Systems, we've migrated/merged 200 domains in the last two years. Perhaps yours will be next? Feel free to call the sales department at the office for a quote (02.40.97.57.55).

Denis

Note: Some antivirus programs offer the option to deploy an executable file, such as the Kaspersky agent. We've used this method in the past on networks without Active Directory.
