Hello,
I'm trying to deploy my WAPT client installation using a GPO (starter and shutdown) from my Active Directory. I've followed all the documentation available on the website. Unfortunately, I'm unable to deploy the client, either through "waptagent" or "waptdeploy," in a fully automated and silent way.
I've correctly entered the "/VERYSILENT" command in the GPO, but I still get the installation screen that requires user intervention. Do you have any suggestions?
For your information, I'm running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory.
Thank you in advance.
[RESOLVED] Silent installation

Hello Diab92,
Could you please provide a screenshot of your GPO definition (the "Add a script" window)? Is the GPO correctly positioned under "Computer Configuration," and not "User Configuration"?
If you launch waptagent.exe with the /VERYSILENT flag on a machine, does the installation proceed in silent mode?
Sincerely,
Denis

It's time to switch to Samba-AD, win2k8r2 support ends in just over a year!
Sincerely,
Denis

Thank you for your feedback! I've resolved my issue. The installation on client machines is now silent.
Extended support for Windows Server 2008 R2 ends in January 2020. I'm currently considering whether to migrate to Windows Server 2016 or install a Linux distribution with Samba-AD. It all depends on how easy it is to migrate all my services from my two Active Directory instances!

Hello Diab92,
For Samba-AD, there's no reason why it shouldn't meet your needs. If you have colleagues who are also interested, Tranquil IT offers training and migration support (with over 300 migrations completed).
I'm marking this topic as RESOLVED.
Sincerely,
Denis
If you have two minutes, could you describe how you solved your problem? If you solved it, others probably will too, and it might help them.diab92 wrote: ↑Oct 23, 2018 - 2:47 PM Thank you for your feedback! I've solved my problem. The installation on client machines is now silent.
