Hello everyone,

thanks to your excellent tutorial, I was able to successfully install and test Samba AD.

However, I'm encountering a problem with Google's Google Cloud Directory Sync tool. I want my AD users to be automatically created in G Suite. When I configure my settings in GDCS, it doesn't seem to find my DN database.

I've run numerous tests with Google support, and they mentioned an authentication security level issue. Have you ever encountered this situation? Is it possible to modify this authentication level? Apparently, Samba AD uses the GSS API?

I'm open to your suggestions.

Thank you.

Hello,

Samba-AD version 4.11, released in September 2019, will support 2012R2 schemas and will benefit from 2008R2 functional support. Version 4.9, released in September 2018, supports 2008R2 schemas and 2008R2 functional support, so things are progressing well.

There are significant performance improvements between 4.9 and 4.11 (DNS, LDAP, etc.), and these performance gains are the goal of Samba-AD's funders; they are very important and French, and we know them very well at Tranquil IT.

2008R2 functional support is now the standard in 2019-2020, so there's no reason why your issue shouldn't work. It's worth investigating further, but your details are insufficient to guide a technical solution.

Sincerely,

Vincent
