[SOLVED] Windows updates won't download

* Specify the installed WAPT version, full version, and build number (2.2.1.11957 / 2.2.2.12337 / etc.) as well as the Enterprise/Discovery edition.

Hello everyone,

I've noticed that some Windows updates aren't downloading from my repository. Is this a known issue?
For example: KB2673773, KB4530715, and KB4530684.

There were a few KBs with empty download URLs in this week's latest wsusscn2.cab. Specifically, we saw kb4523204 and kb4530684 in this case. Could you please check the URLs of these three KBs to see if it's a similar issue? We're looking into it internally.

Hello Denis,

I just took a look at my server and I also noticed that KB4530684 was not downloaded on my system.
That said, it's far from the only one! I have 43 that won't download...

Here is the complete list, sorry for the wall of text...
The KB list displayed is the one from the wsusscn2.cab file. Only KBs requested by users and approved by the administrator are downloaded. The problem I mentioned earlier refers to incorrect entries in the wsusscn2.cab file where the download URL is missing.

For each KB article, you can view the download file by right-clicking on the column headers and selecting "Download URL (download_url)". If you have a row with an empty download URL, there is a problem.

Microsoft WSUS downloads all updates for the selected products, even those not needed by the computers on your network. WAPT, on the other hand, only downloads packages that have been requested at least once by a computer (instead of downloading all updates). The complete list still allows you to force the download of a specific KB article. This then allows you to create a WAPT package to distribute it if needed.

We've found the problem in the meantime. Microsoft changed some of the ways it works in the wsuscn2.cab file. We'll be releasing an update this week to fix this issue. You can follow the resolution in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2134 I'm marking this thread as resolved to avoid having two threads on the same topic. We can reopen it if the fix doesn't solve your problem.
