Hi,

When deploying the tis-plashplayer package on two Vista machines, I get the following error:
Installing flash for firefox
EWaptSetupException: Fatal error: MSI install_flash_player_20_plugin.msi has been installed but the uninstall key {FB7D053D-9F6F-4E16-96BE-D2EF54C620AC} can not be found
Do you know where it might come from?

Thank you so much for your help and a huge thank you for your brilliant solution!

Hello csinfo78,

I don't have a Vista machine handy to reproduce the problem... Could you try installing Flash Player manually (run `wapt-get edit tis-flashplayer`, then retrieve the .exe file from `c:\waptdev\tis-flashplayer-wapt\`) and verify that it installs correctly?

If it installs correctly, check if the uninstallation key is present with `wapt-get list-registry flash`.

In more recent versions of Windows (10, 8/8.1), the ActiveX part of Flash is handled by Windows updates and no longer needs to be installed. However, here the problem seems to be with the Firefox plugin...

Could you provide the exact version of the Flash package you are trying to install?

Sincerely,

Denis Cardon

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry for getting back to you so soon, as I only work with this client once a week.

I tried installing Flash Player using your method, and the installation went smoothly.

Version 20.0.0.270-2.

However, when I check for the uninstallation key, this is what I get.

Hello,

why not create a package that uninstalls all versions of Flash (IE, Firefox, etc.) first?
https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/f ... player.exe

And then reinstall Flash Player cleanly?

That might be a possibility; I ended up installing the plugin manually.

Luckily, I only have two machines running Vista, haha.
