Good morning,

I have a user who contacted me this morning because yesterday he had to restart his PC; the waptexit agent launched, but apparently with a nice error message:
wapt_exit_error.jpg

How to diagnose the problem? Is it a bug? Is it a known issue?

THANKS

Uh, no, not known...
in my opinion, a corrupted or incomplete installation of the wapt service.
There might be some information in %ProgramFiles(x86)%\wapt\log\waptservice.log.

Thinking about it, I wonder when waptexit is launched?
Does it run after the user session is closed?

By default, it starts when the machine shuts down via a local GPO.

But you can start it at any time.

Most of my users are connected via Wi-Fi, and it's a "user" Wi-Fi network (the connection is only established after logging in and is disconnected upon logging out). Could the message therefore be a connection problem with the WAPT server, since the WaptExit command is executed after the user session is closed?

Personally, I haven't encountered this problem in my tests because I'm always connected via Ethernet.

Normally, a network connection isn't needed when waptexit starts, as the packages should be downloaded beforehand (every 120 minutes, it checks for available updates and downloads them if necessary).

Therefore, a "500" error is not normal.
Extracting the log would help.

Okay, I'll do that as soon as I have access to the user's PC.

Hi Benoît,

Waptexit doesn't communicate with the WAPT server but with the local WAPT agent. The 500 error message should be returned by the agent, so it would be helpful to retrieve the logs to see what's happening.

We have other networks with laptops that are always on Wi-Fi where we don't have any problems. We'd need to look more closely at what's causing the issue in your case.

Happy Easter weekend!
