Hello,

here's the error I encountered when installing a package on a client from the WAPT console on the server side:

TimeoutExpired: Command '('"WD170PACKDVD056g.exe" /VERYSILENT',)' timed out after seconds with output '600.0'.

The package is 2.3 GB.

There seems to be a timeout issue, as discussed in this post: http://forum.tranquil.it/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=13 .

I'll try installing it from the client side.

During installation from the client with this command:

Code: Select all

wapt-get install NOM_PAQUET
He replied to me:

Code: Select all

=== skipped packages ===
NOM_PAQUET
He didn't download it or install it.

So I download it manually:

Code: Select all

wapt-get download NOM_PAQUET
I tried the installation command again, but got the same result. So I changed the syntax and used the previously downloaded package, which gave me this:

Code: Select all

wapt-get install c:\wapt\cache\NOM_PAQUET
and it works :)

The solution is not very flexible (first the timeout of the installation from the WAPT console on the server and then the laborious installation from the client).

The software in question is a development tool called Windev from PC Soft. I tried a silent installation during the package creation process, but it might not be possible (due to the many options during installation), and that could be the cause of the problems. I admit I'm a bit tired tonight, so I'll revisit the installation flexibility with its little brother, WebDev.

Hmm, let's talk about this client-side installation flexibility. Why this "skipped package"? It should have downloaded and installed it silently, or not. But no. A bug here!?

Yours sincerely.

Okay, for the smaller Webdev version, which is 2GB, the client-side installation command works perfectly (package download + installation launch).

I might have made a mistake when building the Windev package.

Something to think about.

Hello,

I encountered the same problem with a package installation larger than 3GB.

I modified the launch command as follows:
`run(r'"xxxx.exe" -i silent',timeout=900)`.

Hoping this might help... ;)
