Hello everyone,

I'm currently testing WAPT on Linux clients and I'm wondering about the possibility of using self-service on a Linux client (I'm not yet using macOS, but I might have a similar request in the coming weeks).
After installing the agent, the PC connects correctly to the server.
Installing a package is OK, but I can't find anywhere—neither on the client nor in the documentation—how to use self-service. How do I launch it? Or, failing a graphical interface, what are the commands?

Unless I'm mistaken, self-service on Linux clients is mentioned in the documentation: https://www.wapt.fr/en/doc-2.5/wapt-sel ... lf-service
"For the system authentication under GNU/Linux to work correctly, be sure to correctly configure your PAM authentication and your nsswitch.conf. The `id username` command MUST return the list of the groups the user is a member of." "

Also, if true self-service isn't available like on Windows, this part of the documentation misled me.
How would it be possible for a user to list all available packages (or those accessible to their group) within this system?

Thank you

Wapt client Linux - Ubuntu 22.04 LTS: 2.4.0.14143
Wapt Enterprise Server (on Linux server): 2.4.0.14143
Wapt Console (on Windows): 2.4.0.14143"

Hi Alexis,

you need to install an additional package to have the GUIs on Linux:

https://wapt.tranquil.it/wapt/releases/ ... -amd64.deb

https://wapt.tranquil.it/wapt/releases/ ... x86_64.rpm

I'll see about adding something more explicit to the documentation.

For self-service authentication, I recommend using the watpserver-ldap option.

On macOS, the GUIs are directly in the agent. On Linux, we have clients that use WAPT to manage headless servers, and to avoid dependencies on graphical packages, we put the GUIs in a separate package.

Best regards,

Denis
