WAPT version: 2.6.1.17567
Server OS: Debian 12
OS machine administration: Windows Server 2019
Target operating system: Windows 11

Good morning,

We want to upgrade Windows 11 machines to version 25h2. After searching, wapt offers the tis-windows11-upgrade package (https://wapt.tranquil.it/store/fr/tis-windows11-upgrade) which apparently allows this. We have positioned it on the workstations and we are encountering problems, namely that the workstations are not migrating to the latest version.

Regarding the target position:
  • A folder c:\WindowsUpgrade containing all the installation files has been created
error_upgrade.png
error_upgrade.png (28.99 KB) Viewed 5264 times
  • Several restarts have been performed, but the package audit on the console still fails with the message: ERROR: Windows upgrade failed
  • However, if you manually run the "setup.exe" file located in the folder, the computer seems to update
Which installation log file should we look at? We saw a folder c:\WindowsUpgradeLogs but there are quite a few different log files in the Mo Setup, Panther or Rollback folders.

Thank you for your feedback

Hello Cédric and Happy New Year 2026! :-)

If the machines are running 24H2, you should install the corresponding EKB package to upgrade to 25H2 (both operating systems share the same base; you just need to enable the 25H2 features to be on 25H2).

If the machines are running 23H2 or earlier, or Windows 10, then this is indeed the correct package to install.

Is there more information in the WAPT console regarding the installation logs (not the audit logs)?

Sincerely,

Denis

Hello Denis,

best wishes for the new year as well.

The workstations are in 24h2, and based on the information provided, we found the tis-kb5054156 package.
We tested it, and it works well. However, if you hadn't told me, we wouldn't have guessed at all that the "kb5054156" package needed to be installed for this upgrade.
