WAPT Version: 2.7.0.19598
Server OS: Debian 13
Administration Machine OS: Windows Server 2019

Hello,

since update 19598, in the "Private Repositories" tab of the administration console, packages with available updates are no longer highlighted in red. Is this normal? Is there a display option to enable? How can I find out when updates are available from the store?

Thank you.

Hi Cédric,

the red highlighting has been removed because it could be misleading. The calculation of available updates is based on all the capabilities of a package (OS, version, language, architecture, etc.), and the red highlighting didn't take all of that into account.

The functionality has been reimplemented cleanly and completely in the "Import from a repository" window. You now need to check the boxes "Newer than in my repository" and "Compatible with known machines." It does the same thing, but properly. :-)

Regards,

Denis

Ah, very good, thank you for the information.
So, I'd like to report a bug: when I go through this new window and select "more recent than in my repository," it doesn't display anything (even though I know I have packages with available updates, e.g., Remote Desktop Manager).

Hi Cédric,

could you be more specific? What's the internal package version (OS, architecture, etc.)? And what's the expected package version? The latest version for Windows, Linux, and macOS isn't the same on the publisher's website (and therefore on the Wapt store).

My mistake, I also needed to check "Compatible with known machines." I am indeed receiving update notifications. Sorry, I misread.

However, if I have modified packages, for example RustDesk, where I delete the shortcut and I had to use the "Run update-package" function to avoid losing my package modification, how should I proceed now? In "Import from repository," do I need to be careful not to select the RustDesk package?

No worries, I still discover new features of Wapt from time to time myself :-) ...

Indeed, the use case is quite relevant. We should maintain a way to determine whether a package originates from the store or has been modified locally.

We're discussing it internally. For now, I'm marking the topic as RESOLVED.

Sincerely,

Denis
