Hello,

I'm a new member of your forum. I've been using the WAPT solution for some time now to deploy workstations in a research and university environment.

I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate the development team on this truly practical and well-designed tool.

I'd like to know if, in your future development branches, it would be possible to implement a sorting system in the graphical console to sort the workstations managed by WAPT into groups (a question already asked on the forum)? This would simply make it easier to read and find a group of workstations without having to use the filter.

Regarding package deployment, would it also be possible to consider sharing resources via P2P for packages already available on client workstations, rather than relying solely on the server? (Or perhaps a load balancing system between WAPT servers on the same network.)

And the burning question... will we ever have the chance to get a WAPT client for Mac? 8-)

Group-based management is already implemented:

In my opinion, you would prefer an OU-type management system like on an AD.
But I like group management because a position can be part of several groups, so it makes more sense!

You can already balance the load with two WAPT servers by adjusting the DNS settings. Two servers, two "wapt" records in the DNS, each pointing to a different IP address. This will then balance the load 50/50 between the two. You'll simply need to replicate the WAPT packet database between the two servers.

But by default the package download happens every 2 hours, except when you force the installation from the console.
So, since computers generally don't start up at exactly the same time, the balancing is natural.

Otherwise, one topic addressed a possible solution--> viewtopic.php?f=10&t=416&hilit=wakeonlan
