I was at Fosdem and heard Vincent Cardon talk on "SaMBa-AD, it works stories of battles fought and won", and from that I heard about wapt. We use today a "similar" solution by a german company (don't want to name names), and we need something better. We now have a wapt server up and running, basically to 5 minutes to setup the server and have the first package installed on a windows-machine, so nice. The only problem so far, is that the documentation, and gui, is in many places a mix of French and English. But apart from that, we are impressed.
I encourage you to try the version 1.5 which is about to be released in a few days but already available.

Software should have less french-english mix and GUI layout is cleaner (specially for high-dpi screens)
Look at the documentation at https://www.wapt.fr/en/doc-1.5/index.html

Vincent CARDON from FOSDEM, you can trust Hubert, 1.5 is a princess.
1.5 is Hubert's princess (his daughters are already his queens
)
Actually, it was Denis who did the presentation at FOSDEM on Samba, Denis and I, we are brothers.
Samba is really cool because it manages the users and the computers, and WAPT manages the installed base of applications. So you combine the two things and you have something much greater.
