During the deployment of the tchap-desktop 4.20.0-6 package, the desktop shortcut created by the previous version, tchap-desktop 4.19.9-3, is deleted and no new one is created.

the problem originated on the console PC.

I had a server running version 2.4, and when upgrading to 2.6, I opted for a clean install, also changing the certificates.
I encountered no difficulties on the server.

However, I hadn't noticed anything amiss on the console PC...

The window that should ask for it doesn't appear, and I'm stuck in a loop...

The issue doesn't seem to be limited to deployment via Wapt.
There's a similar request on Tchap's GitHub repository: https://github.com/tchapgouv/tchap-desktop/issues/140 from an SCCM user.

Currently, there's a delay between the release of a new version of Tchap and its availability on WAPT.
